Employee Benefit Advocate

We are looking for a motivated, hard-working person to join our growing team! The role as the Benefit Advocate is to address benefit issues as brought up by employees, acting as the liaison with insurance carriers and providers, educating employees and helping with other benefit and administration needs. Benefit Advocates regularly practice discretionary decision making on a daily basis.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works directly with employees and their family members to answer questions regarding benefits (i.e. Rx benefits, covered procedures, plan provisions, plan limitations, etc.)
  • Acts as a liaison with insurance carriers and providers (hospitals, doctors, dentists, labs) to resolve claims issues and aid with the appeals process
  • Assists with prior authorizations
  • Helps with ID card requests
  • Assists with network searches
  • Meets with the Benefit Consultants on a regular basis to discuss work in progress for their clients
  • Attends training opportunities to increase industry knowledge

     

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • 2 years work experience
  • Employee benefits experience preferred
  • CA Life and Health license preferred

SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.  Persistent to achieve the end result resolution
  • Strong organizational skills, including daily prioritizing and logical thinking
  • Service-oriented; kind, compassionate and willing to work hard on another person’s behalf

Individual / Medicare Agent

We are looking for a motivated, hard-working person to join our growing team!  As our Individual and Medicare Insurance Agent you will be responsible for servicing our current book of business in addition to generating new Medicare sales.  You will be responsible in assisting our clients with their health and/or Medicare plan decisions.  Training to help understand the current market and products will be provided.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ideally possess 2+ years industry experience, Medicare and/or individual sales environment, with a successful track record of goal achievement.  (However, willing to train motivated individuals looking to start a career path.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • Current Health and Life insurance license is a plus
  • Experience selling individual and/or senior insurance products is a plus.
  • Have a friendly and positive attitude
  • Strong administration skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Phone etiquette
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Establish and maintain client relationships
  • Drive sales and revenue by assisting customers in making healthcare decisions over the phone
  • Assist with online applications both directly with insurance carriers and Covered CA
  • Remain current on products and processes in a multi-product environment
  • Abide by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Medicare Marketing Guidelines and company policies and procedures
  • Complete Medicare training and certifications each year
  • Meet monthly sales goals
  • Other duties and projects assigned as needed
